There is something almost magical about entering a movie theatre, smelling the popcorn and immersing yourself in a seat as the trailers begin. Some of my favourite memories with people revolve around talking about movies. In fact, ever so often I find myself pondering the genius of a particular scene or shot or character or show to myself as I am getting dressed for the day. In this blog, I hope to bring these conversations to a wider audience. As the title suggests, I will talk about films both in terms of form (factors such as light, editing, background score, particular acting choices) and content (plot, writing, character development).

I am not in any way an experienced film writer or critic. This blog is (and will be) a work in progress, and will evolve as I learn more about filmmaking and film writing.
